Fully Automatic Blow Molding Machines for Health Beverage Bottles

The fully automatic blow molding machine is automated equipment used for producing PET bottles, such as health beverage bottles, mineral water bottles, baby bottles, juice bottles, and other plastic containers. It works by heating, stretching, and blowing the PET preforms (also called embryo tubes) to form them into various bottles. This equipment is efficient, energy-saving, and fully automated, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

1. Operation Process of the Fully Automatic Blow Molding Machine for Health Beverage Bottles

  1. Preform Feeding
    • Preform Feeder: A large quantity of PET preforms is poured into the feeder, which automatically sends them to the arranging machine.
    • Preform Arranger: This machine arranges the preforms in a uniform direction and sends them one by one to the conveyor chain to enter the heating area.
  2. Preform Heating
    • Infrared Heater: The preforms are conveyed into the infrared heater, where the temperature is automatically controlled by the PLC based on set parameters to ensure even heating, reaching the required temperature for blow molding. The heater is divided into zones to control different parts of the preform, ensuring uniform heating throughout.
  3. Automatic Transfer to Blow Mold
    • Transfer System: After heating, the preforms are automatically transferred to the blow mold by the conveyor system. The system ensures accurate positioning of the preforms to avoid misalignment or asymmetry in the finished bottles.
  4. Stretching and Blow Molding
    • Pre-Blow Air: Once the preform is fixed by the holder, a pre-blowing operation is carried out, slightly expanding the preform. The pressure and timing of the pre-blow are automatically controlled.
    • Stretch Blow Molding: The stretching rod automatically inserts into the preform, stretching it lengthwise while high-pressure air is quickly injected, causing the preform to expand and mold into shape. This process is controlled by the PLC to ensure consistency and quality in each bottle.
  5. Cooling and Demolding
    • Mold Cooling: The molded bottle undergoes rapid cooling within the mold. The mold typically features cooling water channels, and this process is also automated.
    • Automatic Demolding: After cooling, the mold automatically opens, and the finished bottle is removed by a mechanical arm or other devices.

2. Key Considerations for Using a Fully Automatic Blow Molding Machine for Health Beverage Bottles

  1. Preform Quality Control
    • Preform Storage and Handling: Preforms should be kept away from sunlight or high temperatures to prevent material changes that could affect the blow molding process. Keep the preform surface clean, and free of dust, and debris.
    • Preform Inspection: Check the preforms for any cracks, defects, or deformations in the bottleneck before use. Defects can impact the blow molding process, leading to poor quality finished bottles.
  2. Heater Adjustment
    • Temperature Control: The heater’s temperature should be adjusted according to the preform material, bottle size, and production requirements. Overheating or underheating can affect the stretching and molding properties of the preform, resulting in uneven bottle wall thickness or deformed bottles.
    • Uniform Heating: Ensure the temperature distribution in the heating zone is even to prevent one side of the bottle from becoming too thick while the other side is too thin.
  3. Blowing and Stretching Parameters
    • Blow Pressure Control: The pre-blow and high-pressure blowing should be adjusted based on the bottle’s design requirements. If the pre-blow pressure is too high, the preform may not stretch enough, and insufficient high-pressure blowing may result in poor surface quality or inadequate molding.
    • Stretch Speed and Position: The stretching rod’s speed and position should ensure smooth stretching to prevent preform misalignment or uneven stretching. The machine should be regularly calibrated to maintain stretching accuracy.
  4. Mold Maintenance
    • Mold Cleaning: The mold should be cleaned after each production run to avoid residual fragments or debris from affecting the next batch. Keep the mold surface smooth and free of damage to prevent scratches or defects on the bottle surface.
    • Mold Temperature: The mold temperature should be controlled within a reasonable range. Overheating may result in soft bottles, while too low temperatures can cause an uneven bottle surface.
  5. Cooling System
    • Cooling Time Control: The bottles need to cool quickly after molding. The cooling time should be set according to the material and thickness of the bottles. Insufficient cooling time may cause bottle deformation, while too long cooling can reduce production efficiency.
    • Cooling System Cleaning: Regularly inspect the cooling system’s water or air channels to ensure they are clear and not blocked, preventing inadequate cooling that could lead to bottle surface deformation or poor gloss.
  6. Automatic Feeding System
    • Preform Arrangement and Transfer: The automatic feeding system should be maintained in good working condition to prevent preforms from getting stuck, falling, or being arranged incorrectly, which would affect production efficiency.
    • Feeder Cleaning: Periodically clean the hopper and conveyor devices in the feeder to prevent dust or preform fragments from affecting normal operation.

3. Development Prospects of Fully Automatic Blow Molding Machines for Health Beverage Bottles

As consumers place more emphasis on health, health drinks with nutritious ingredients are gaining popularity. These beverages, which often have lower sugar content or are sugar-free, cater to the growing demand for healthy, additive-free drinks. Compared to traditional sugary drinks, healthy beverages meet the needs of modern consumers who prefer reduced-sugar diets. The mild glycemic response of these drinks compared to table sugar makes them ideal for health-conscious individuals. This shift in consumer behavior has increased demand for various types of water bottles, such as mineral water, herbal drinks, and functional beverages. Furthermore, the demand for convenient beverages continues to rise as the economy grows.

The development of fully automatic blow molding machines is closely related to the rise of health beverages and bottled water. As these drinks become more popular, the demand for bottles increases, offering promising growth prospects for fully automatic blow molding machines.
